About Me
Lucy Jensen
Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Our medical weight loss service is run by Lucy Jensen, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with 18 years of experience in managing chronic disease. Lucy started her career in Cardiology later transitioning into General practice, where she has a special interest in health promotion and managing long-term conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory conditions. After her undergraduate degree, Lucy completed her Nurse training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and then completed a Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.

What we do & How it works
Heartsure offers a comprehensive structure to help patients with increased BMIs manage their symptoms. We offer face-to-face and virtual consultations with our specialist Advanced Clinical Practitioner who will offer practical and personalised methods to manage your weight and its overall impact on your health.
Heartsure has unique access to Semagultide, a medication which was originally used to treat Type II Diabetes but has also shown to be an effective agent in helping to manage weight. The medication acts by imitating the appetite-suppressing hormone, effectively controlling hunger and decreasing calorie intake pushing individuals towards a calorie deficit. It is important to note that these injections are not a miraculous solution but rather a supportive aid to be used alongside essential weight loss components like physical activity and a nutritious diet.

Who is eligible?
Everyone is eligible to be reviewed by the weight loss clinic for advice on the management of their weight and making healthier lifestyle choices. a BMI (body mass index) of 30 kg/m² or over (obese)

a BMI between 27 and 30 kg/m² (overweight), and a weight-related health condition such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, or heart problems.

Who is not eligible?
While we aim to help everyone on their journey to better health and lower BMI, certain medications including the weight loss injections that we offer might not be suitable for some people, which may be because of a medical condition or other reasons:

Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2 syndrome.

Patients with Type 1 Diabetes and pregnant women.
